The Lancet Conferences: Health of the Nation Summit 2009

Exploring the evidence behind the politics

February 5-6, 2009, Royal College of Physicians, London, UK

Thank you for joining us for a productive 2 days in London! We hope that you found the conference to be an educational and enjoyable experience.

The Lancet Health of the Nation Summit drew attention to the moral imperative of the NHS to embrace change. Three critical areas to enable the healthcare industry in the UK to make that agenda for change work are strong clinical leadership, the need for integrated patterns of healthcare, and a commitment to research and new knowledge.

"The conference was informative, interesting, and provided much food for thought. Please convey my congratulations to The Lancet and the organisers."

"The sessions were excellent—hugely informative and inspirational. It was a true honour to be invited to speak."
